Coming soon, we're building an awesome website! Welcome to Sassy Entertainment! Your visit is probably as a result of seeing the show, or you have an interest in karaoke.

"Karaoke" is derived from the Japanese words "kara" which is short for karano, meaning "empty," and "oke" which is short for okesutora, which means "orchestra." Invented by Daisuke Inoue in the early 1970's, karaoke is fun to do, and even more fun to watch!

You don’t need much of a musical background, just a love for the music you want to try. I started playing trombone in grade school and dropped it in high school.

Years later, I began to play the trumpet, and perform occasionally. One of my biggest influences is the most awesome band in the world, Chicago! There were the guitar and bass guitar lessons, but I won’t go into how that didn’t quite pan out for me…obviously though, I had a love for the music. One of my current favorite bands is the Right On Band (www.rightonband.com).

I started doing karaoke in 1991. My twin sister, Melinda and I stumbled into a place called “Durf’s” in Lockport, New York, and met the legendary Al Territo. It was nerve racking to hear my own voice through a professional sound system. Actually, quite frightening. My sister sang with me, thank goodness, or I probably wouldn’t have had the nerve to do it at all. But after many nights of being out during college era, we got a little better, and eventually I started to sing by myself.

What I love about doing the show is being able to entertain and create something that helps people forget about their “everyday life.” For me, that’s what entertainment is all about. The second best thing I love about doing karaoke shows is that it will never be the same show twice! I look forward to seeing you soon, until then, Karaoke my wayward son!
